There is currently a lot of activity on the slopes of the Gastein Valley. Fantastic weather, ideal snow conditions and perfect temperatures ensure unbridled skiing and boarding fun for young and old. Cross-country fans, on the other hand, feel at home in somewhat flatter regions. Numerous cross-country trails in Dorfgastein and the surrounding area for classic and skating technique lead right through snow-covered winter landscapes and open up new paths. The following trail tips make cross-country skiing in the Gastein Valley an experience.
The Dorfgasteiner Loipe
It all starts, of course, in the middle of Dorfgastein, where the local Mühlbach trail welcomes beginners and lightly sporty runners in particular. The length and course depend on the snow conditions. You get in either at the Stoani bar or at the Mühlbachstüberl guesthouse and set out on a circuit of up to 3 km in the direction of Maierhofen and back. Grown for skating and classic.
Around Bad Gastein, several cross-country trails vie for the Nordic favor of numerous guests and locals. The facility on the Böckstein is particularly popular and highly frequented, because it is located at an airy and snow-sure 1,100 m above sea level. At the Ullmannwiese, not only is the entrance waiting, but also a large parking lot. The circuit (5.5 km, skating and classic) with flat and slightly hilly passages is already on the way.
Achen trail Bad Hofgastein
This 4 km long circuit is also groomed for both techniques and appeals to both beginners and advanced skiers. The elevation profile with slight inclines and smaller descents is exciting on the trail that begins in the spa park. You can really work out along the Gasteiner Ache.
