An exciting, highly exciting year is slowly but surely drawing to a close. Christmas is just around the corner and soon it will be time to welcome 2019. Where is this best done? In the vast Gastein Valley, of course! New Year’s Eve in Dorfgastein and the other Gastein communities combines wonderful traditions with modern charm and many a lavish festival.
Winter solstice in Dorfgastein
The big midsummer bonfire is one of the cornerstones of the festivities around the turn of the year. On December 29th, everyone will meet at the parking lot of the Fulseck valley station from 7.30 p.m., half an hour later they will start, accompanied by mulled wine and children’s punch. This is followed by a joint torchlight hike to the ballroom, where a concert by the U-14 musicians with a performance by the local folk group follows.
The New Years Eve parties
Three big celebrations over two days invite you to be in a good mood. For kids, New Year’s Eve in the Gastein Valley begins on December 30th, when the party is held in Hauserbauer’s Gipfelstadel. With fun games and tinkering lucky charms, we head towards the little fireworks together. The next day you are spoiled for choice:
- In Dorfgastein the evening begins from 9 p.m. with a concert by the group Powerfrog, which counteracts the new year.
- In Bad Hofgastein let yourself starting 18 O ‘clock be enchanted by the New Year’s Eve torch run by the local ski schools from the Schlossalm into the valley, from 9 p.m. the cover band Rowsekit will rock the open-air stage with hits and evergreens.
New Year’s Eve in Dorfgastein stands for the best entertainment, a relaxed atmosphere and a touch of winter magic that extends across the entire Gastein Valley. As a Steindlwirt guest you will of course be there live! Do you already have one Vacation offer requested?
