Holidays with your dog in the Gastein Valley: Our tips
You don’t want to go without your four-legged companion when you’re out and about? That is only too understandable, and that is why there is more than enough to experience on holiday with your dog in the Gastein Valley – together, of course. From numerous walks and excursions to a little cooling off, a lot of exciting things await you in every season. Don’t miss out on the following tips for the Gastein Valley with your dog!
Out and about in the Gastein Valley
Numerous walking and hiking trails are ideal for tours together. In summer, for example, a short walk along the Elisabeth promenade is worthwhile. In some places the water is shallow enough to cool off a bit – important because dogs are not allowed on the Gastein bathing lake! – The long paths in a traffic-calmed location with lots of green provide wonderful space for this. The wonderfully babbling Achenpromenade as well as the picturesque waterfall path know how to inspire. In case of doubt, take your four-legged friend on a leash, because there are cyclists and mountain bikers on some passages, and of course other dogs too.
A must also in the cold season
Is there snow outside? No problem, because many winter hiking trails are also dog-friendly. Your four-legged friend can travel on the mountain railways without any problems – have a leash and muzzle with you if necessary – sometimes even free of charge. The suspension bridge on the Stubnerkogel and the Gasteiner Höhenweg are always inspiring, plus there are great views and wonderfully clear air. It is much nicer to play and romp in the fresh snow.
