Harvest festival in Dortgastein (August – October)
The diverse cultural landscape and the living traditions of the farming community make the harvest festival an experience for visitors and locals alike. Harvest festival in Dorfgastein means celebrations that celebrate old customs: whether it be an “Einheiga” at one of the farms or cattle returning from the alpine pastures – everywhere musicians strike up their instruments for their own joy and for dancing for both visitors and locals. |

Sight-seeing in Dorfgastein:
The "Entrische Kirche": a natural monument of a very special kind. A stalactite, dry and water cave with wonderful stalactites and limestone formations. A safe haven for rare species of bats! Guided tours (about 50 minutes long) from Palm Sunday until the end of October.

The Klammstein castle ruins: the castle was first documented in 1272 and remained the security and administrative centre of Gastein until 1524. In 1972 the castle was completely renovated and converted into a museum. Castle tavern as well as individual guided tours are available.
